Abuja — President Umaru Yar'Adua has directed that security around oil facilities in the Niger Delta region be beefed up while the nation's armed forces and other security agencies take all necessary action to bring to book, perpetrators of last Thursday's attack on the Bonga oil facilities by Niger Delta militants.
Addressing state house correspondents on the attack yesterday, the special Adviser to the president on Communications, Segun Adeniyi said though the federal government is committed to the peaceful resolution of the Niger Delta, it would not abdicate its responsibility of ensuring law and order in the country.
The text of his statement read at the press conference reads:
"The Federal Government wholly condemns yesterday's attack on the Bonga Oil Field operated by the Shell Petroleum Development Company.
"President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua has directed the country's Armed Forces and security agencies to take all necessary action to apprehend the perpetrators of this latest act of national sabotage and bring them to justice."

A lot have been given to Niger Deltans already. Why are they attacking the oil companies still? Yaradua is not entirely wrong to use force. He has appealed but no one listened.
Mr. President:
The time has come for you to face the music on the issue of the Niger Delta. For years, the Yoruba and Hausa ethnicities have benefitted from their illicit collaborations with the British establishment and other foreigners to profit whilst the Delta peoples suffer. Now, your own hypocrisy in this matter will consume your government and you will know that there is a God in heaven WHO JUDGES JUSTLY.
REPENT Mr. President!! God is watching and He will fight on behalf of the downtrodden. God will consume the Federal government of Nigeria with judgments.
The prominent ones of the Nigerian government will know sickness and disease as never before. Curses will plague their very households. The children that you have nourished through your corrupt activities will also know judgment because they saw the evil of their parents and did not take heed. May the living God smite Nigeria's hypocritical political elite as never before so that the entire nation will take absolutely NO TRUST in them or the system that they run. May the King of kings bring real government to the earth. Amen!!
