A total of 629 refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Senegal and Somalia settled at Camatende district centre, 12 kilometres south of Angola's northern Malange province, have been supplied with an assortment of basic goods.

The goods handed over by the Non-Governmental Organization "Jesuit Refugee Service" (JRS) include cooking utensils, foodstuffs, used clothing and ploughing inputs.

The donation is part of June 20 celebrations dedicated to the African refugees, proclaimed by the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) and the African Union Convention.

In a message to the Angolan government, the refugees expressed gratitude for the respect, dignity and attention extended to them in education, health and other kind of assistance with working tools to improve living conditions.
