Kampala — Kampala O! Kampala O." That was the opening phrase that sent fans of the Congolese sensational singer, Bozi Boziana, into a frenzy at Sabrina's Pub last Saturday.
Boziana's fans were listening to the instrumental by his band, when he appeared on stage at 9:00pm, accompanied by four queen dancers.
As Boziana sang his latest song L'Heure de Verite, fans flocked to the venue like they had been waiting for him to perform the song.
Revellers danced themselves lame. Some even wanted to join the queen dancers on stage, but were barred. It was not surprising that Boziana attracted a huge middle-age crowd; his songs generally appeal to that bracket. But this did not slow down the pace of the show.
Boziana showed his musical expertise as his smooth voice brought his songs to life.
The guitarists and drummers played their instruments with ease, drawing applause from the audience.
But as Boziana left the stage, fans blocked him, asking for more.
He obliged and performed his old songs, Mandolina and Tchala, and left at 1:30am.
