Talk of upsets faded first in the thin air for giant killers Kutchimadu and Interfreight sponsored Nile CC after they were cheaply eliminated for Mawanda Cup at the semifinals stage over the weekend.
Despite bringing in two semi-professionals in a bid to reach their first-ever final, Kutchimadu's batting remained as feeble as ever after they collapsed for a paltry 129 when they opted to bat first on the bowler-friendly Lugogo grass wicket.
Romesh Motani, from Kenyan side Kanbis CC, scored 43 runs but his new teammates folded in quick succession with an addition 38 extras helping them to three figures.
In-form Joel Olweny, fresh from his 207* not out against Wanderers, exhibited his free-flowing game with another unbeaten 72 after the bowling quartet of Emmanuel Nakaana, Mark Taremwa, Frank Nsubuga and Nehal Bibodi shared the 10 wickets at stake.
In Entebbe, Captain David Musoke didn't deserve to be part of the losing Nile side that went by 9 wickets to Tornado B. Musoke top scored for Nile with 27 runs but Tornado 'B' had the last laugh after they revenged last year's Mawanda Cup semi-final.
Results - Mawanda Cup
K'madu 129/10 Tornado 131/2
Nile 90/10 Tornado 'B' 91/1
