Conference of Nigeria Political Parties {CNPP} has condemned President Umaru Musa Yaradua's meeting with the PDP over the crisis in Adamawa and described it as unholy and subversion of the rule of law and war against corruption.
CNPP said its condemnation stems from President Yaradua's move to bloc the House of Assembly of Ada-mawa State from exercising their constitutional mandate, enshrined in Section 188 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
It added that, instead for the President as a preacher of the rule of law ought to allow the Governor to respond to the charges, he rather resorted to beclouding and diffusing the issues at stake.
It said, "CNPP is now at a loss, where the mantra of President Yaradua's rule of law and war against corru-ption starts and ends? Is Mr President druming orchetra of deception and taking Nigerians for a ride? Why is he protecting a Governor that loots the patrimony of his people?
"We have for the umpteenth time maintained that President Yar'adua is economical with the truth on his lofty pronouncements, otherwise how can an honest President shield and cover looters? The sleaze highlighted by the Adamawa House against Governor Nyako cannot by any imagination be called a PDP family affair, therefore it is unfortunate that President Yar'adua held a meeting to bloc and subvert the rule of law and war against corruption."
