Nigeria: NTDC Seeks Tourism Park With Cuba

Nigeria has given Cuba the go-ahead to explore areas of cooperation in the tourism sector.
The instruction came after a meeting with the Cuban Embassy in Nigeria and the Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), Otunba Olusegun Runsewe in Abuja.
The move came barely a month after a similar effort by the NTDC with the government of Dubai, the fasted growing tourist destination in the world.
Runsewe said the need for the collaboration was to enable the two countries share the tourism boom.
He the two courtiers have a lot to offer the industry hence; he reiterated the determination of Nigeria to explore areas of cooperation in the sector for the mutual benefits of both countries.
To actualize this, Runsewe said he would take some officials of the corporation and stakeholders to explore some aspects of Cuban tourism industry while similar visit would be undertaken by Cuban officials particularly in the area of cultural tourism.
In his response, Ambassador Elio Savon, thanked Runsewe for the courtesy visit and expressed the readiness of his country to explore sector.
The Caribbean country of Cuba has recently attracted tourists seeking for beaches, culture, history and natural attraction.

In 2007 alone, the country attracted 2.3 million tourists from all over the world, many of them with a great desire to explore the Cuban tradition.
