Sudan is seeking evidence from Egypt as the country tries to redraw a north-south Sudan border that has often been a source of tension, but the effort has been hampered by lack of money.
The southern Sudan government Friday said northern Sudan was underfunding the border demarcation effort, piling onto a common notion here that the north is not interested in the border demarcation.
"Only US$7.5 million was released for the committee," the Government of Southern Sudan Information Minister Changson Chang said Friday.
"There were some works that couldn't be completed because money was not released," Mr Chang said. "Documents, maps from the Republic of Egypt were not released because some money was not released to the committee."
Mr Chang said the money needed by the experts to move to Egypt for the documentation was no more than thousands of dollars.
The remarks followed a day-long briefing to the Southern Sudan cabinet by members of a committee named to demarcate the 2000 kilometre border.
