Kuito — At least 142.5 million kwanzas were released this year for the construction of two integrated community centres in the central Bié Province, with a view to encouraging socio-professional training of the local residents.
Speaking to the press, the acting director of the provincial Social Welfare Department, Berta Mendonça, said that the infrastructures were funded by the provincial government. Split in 16 compartments, the referred centre, with the capacity to cater for 100 people, will provide training courses in sewing, baking, computer literacy, shoemaking, ironwork, cooking and decoration.
According to the official, the main beneficiaries of this training programme will be disabled people, teenagers and women.
The first centre was inaugurated this month by the minister that coordinates the supervising team for the Province of Bié, João Baptista Kussúmua.
