The city of Katsina yesterday played host to the who-is-who in the North during the wedding fatiha of four daughters of the Mangal family.
The event, which commenced around 7am at the Katsina Central Mosque, literaly brought all other activities to a halt as both relatives of the celebrants and Katsina residents thronged the venue to catch a glimpse of the region's opinion leaders.
Prominent among the dignitaries who graced the event are the former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, former Vice-President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Senate President David Mark, Chief Security Adviser, General Abdulahi Sarki Muktar, Chief of Army staff, Yusuf Luka. Also in attendance were Governor of Sokoto, Alhaji Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Governor of Zamfara, Alhaji Mahmoud Aliyu Shinkafi, Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State and the Kano state deputy governor. Others in attendance include, the fomer governor of Adamawa State, Mr. Boni Haruna a Chieftain of the AC, Alhaji Lawal Kaita, AVM Hamza Abdullahi, (rtd), Alhaji Samaila Isa Funtua, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Mr. Andy Uba, Senator Saminu Turaki among others.
Four daughters of the renowned Katsina business tycoon and a close associate of President Umaru Musa Yar'adua were given out in marriage. They include, Murja, Hadiza, Fadila and Shamsiyya. Alhaji Dahiru Mangal arrived the venue of the wedding Fatiha beaming with smiles and thanking all those that attended the ceremony or sent their goodwill messages.
