The final tally in Zimbabwe's run-off election was curious in many ways especially considering President Mugabe's purported "almost miraculous recovery."

On March 29, President Mugabe polled a total of 1,079,730 votes, which relegated him to second place. "Somehow, despite mass intimidation, gross violence, increasing poverty, murders, and hyper-inflation, Robert Mugabe's popularity accelerated faster than our inflation figures (two million per cent), which is quite something," observed a dissident underground group calling itself Sokwanele

"And he managed to secure himself an extra 1,070,539 votes on 27 June 2008.

"He has effectively doubled his vote."

The exact number of voters might never be known as the security forces were reportedly in charge of the voting process and the only poll monitors allowed were from the ruling Zanu PF.

There were reports that in some provinces figures were not tallying with the number of votes cast, forcing a four hour delay in Mr Mugabe's inauguration.

Mr Mugabe was in a hurry to attend the African Union summit in Egypt.

"The vote totals from Mashonaland East, West and Central provinces were not tallying with the number of registered voters," said another group that observed the electoral process. "In Mudzi two polling stations reported 15 000 votes for Mugabe when they are only 3 000 people in those wards."The same scenario was repeated in most polling stations in Mashonaland."

What I find incredible is the fact that the results were available so quickly, wasn't there a bit of a wait for the last results? *LOL*

Well if you can print money and you can manufacture votes why not? It is Africa after all. Here in this continent one can murder, rape, beat, steal and do anything you want with impunity. Thats why Africa is the laughing stock of the world. But somewhere, sometime, Africa is going to have to live up to normal standards where these things in society are not accepted. Its getting there is what stifles meaningful respect, and Africa isnt getting there. Mbeki is joke to the rest of the world. So why dont the South Africans remove him? Thats a good... [Read Full Text]

allAfrica is manipulating your posts? Why would they do that? Some of my posts have appeared a position higher or lower than I wanted them to. The only difference is I see a technical fault where two people have posted simultaneously whereas you see paranoia and anglo white rhodie conspiracy *LOL* Too Funny!

I guess they had tasked an employee with monitoring your posts because you are so influential? :o>

The lesson to be drawn from the Iraq war is that the colonial west, the "international community" and donors can get it wrong. And that self-styled wise men Blair and Bush as well as Rice can be wrong.

And the white man's boy Odinga, is wrong.

BEWARE!

And that the African Child's eternal predator and tormentor/exterminator is still with us.

We wish to congratulate the peoples' hero, Cde Mugabe, on his overwhelming mandate from the people of maZimbabwe.
