Kenya: Fidelity to Sink Bore Holes in Coast

Fidelity bank is set sink boreholes in the Coast province in a bid to reduce water shortage in the country.

The project, dubbed 'Water for Life' is part of the Bank corporate social responsibility started last year and raised Sh7 million from the sale raffle tickets.

According to Ms Nasheena Jiwa the planning and marketing manager at Fidelity Bank, the first borehole water projects that will each cost Sh700, 000 will be constructed in Diani, Ukunda and Malindi.

"The three areas are the pilot projects and we hope to complete construction of the boreholes by the end on this year," said Ms Jiwa.

After the completion on the of the first water project Fidelity Bank will look into construction boreholes in Central and Nyanza Province.
