Nigeria: EFCC Quizzes Bauchi Ex-AG, Commissioner

Abuja — Former Accountant General of Bauchi State, Baffa Tilde, and a Commissioner for Finance in the last administration, Alfa Ja'amare, were yesterday arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). They were arrested in Bauchi on allegation of fraud.

The two officials served under the administration of former Governor Adamu Mu'azu,

An EFCC source told newsmen in Abuja that Tilde and Ja'amare were being held at the anti-graft commission's headquarters in Abuja.

Confirming the arrest, EFCC's Head of Media and Publicity, Femi Babafemi, said that the duo were being investigated by the commission over allegations of fraud while they were serving in the cabinet of the former governor.

The former AG and Commissioner were still being questioned at the time this report was filed.
