Kampala — Lubaga Division residents recently participated in a sanitation campaign code-named "Good sanitation, better living".
Beti Kamya, the area Member of Parliament, flagged off the exercise. She cautioned residents about the risks of a cholera outbreak if they neglected sanitation.
The residents cleaned markets, drainage channels and schools in Kasubi, Lubya, Nakulabye, Nalukolongo, Ndeeba, Namirembe-Bakuli, and Lungujja villages.
"Garbage collection and disposal should be routine," Charles Mulindwa, the acting chairman of the division, advised.
Goretti Masadde, the head of retail and marketing at Commercial Micro-finance (CMF), said the residents' participation in the exercise indicated that they were concerned about their community.
CMF donated sh2m to the division to boost sanitation activities.
