A WOMAN has given birth to four children in Mityana Hospital. Jane Nakazzi, 27, a resident of Kitinkokola village in Mityana town, delivered the quadruplets on Sunday evening.

However, one of the babies died during birth. The surviving three are all boys.

She delivered the first three of the quadruplets normally but had to undergo a cesarean operation for the fourth one.

Dr. Francis Wagaba, who attended to Nakazzi, said she did not have any complications.

"At first, the scan had shown only three children. After the first three, I realised there was another.

"By this time, it was advisable to operate on her. Unfortunately, it was too late, the baby had died (in the womb)," he explained.

This was Nakazzi's second delivery. Three years ago, she delivered twin girls. Nakazzi, whose husband is a peasant farmer, appealed to the public for assistance to help her look after the babies.

"I now have five children and my income is poor. I cannot provide for them," she said.

Mityana Hospital has previously witnessed multiple births.
