Nigeria: Bankole Seeks Closer Ties With Malaysia

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, has advocated for more parliamentary ties between Nigeria and Malaysian for the advancement of the two countries.
The Speaker stated this while receiving the Malaysian High Commissioner to Nigeria , Mr. Mohammed Firdans Oding in his office.
Bankole in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media Affairs, Mr. Kayode Akinmade said both countries should initiate policies that will be of mutual benefit.
"Our Countries have a lot in common and we need to share ideas and experience that would be beneficial to all of us" he stated. On the forthcoming Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference scheduled to take place in Malaysia, the Speaker, who is expected to lead the Nigerian delegation to the occasion will reach out to their counterparts in the Commonwealth community to tap and share experience with a view to building institutional and individual capacity.
While wishing Malaysia a successful hosting of the CPA conference, Hon. Bankole assured that Nigeria would be adequately represented at the event.
Earlier, the Malaysian Envoy, Mr. Mohammed Firdam Oding said he was in the Speaker's office to brief him on the level of preparedness of him country to host the annual CPA conference.

He also intimated the Speaker of Malaysia's desire to field a candidate for the President of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and sought for the support of the Nigerian delegates to the Conference.
