St. Joseph Kabgayi and Remera Rukoma will be Rwanda's representatives at next month's East African Community Games to be held in Kigali.

The Gitarama based clubs qualified for the two slots after making it to the finals of this year's schools rugby competitions.

The competitions which wrapped up on Sunday saw Kabgayi crowned champions after an impressive 39-3 final's score over Rukoma.

On the road to the final, Kabgayi had also dislodged APRED Ndera in the first semi-final while Rukoma silenced Nyamirambo's ASSE in the other semi-final.

After the finals, Janvier Ugeziwe, the secretary general of the local rugby governing body said that Rwanda will be represented by the best in the Games.

"These competitions have clearly shown that Kabgayi and Rukoma are certainly the best rugby schools in the country so we are positive that Rwanda will be well represented on this front," Ugeziwe noted.
