Sierra Leone's top musicians will tomorrow join together to embark on a non-violent election rally throughout Freetown ahead of the local council elections scheduled for July 5.

The rally will conclude the successful nationwide peace tours which saw musicians, dramatists and comedians perform and preach messages of non-violence to fans across the country.

The rally will kick off from two locations namely Lumley roundabout in western Freetown and at Shell, New Road in the east.

The two groups will meet up at Victoria Park by 1pm for a peace programme where the artistes would perform peace songs.

The Single Leg Amputee Sports Club, which has been campaigning for peace through outreach activities to marginalized amputees across Freetown, will also participate in the rally.

The peace rally and tours are supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), partnering with UNIFEM, Talking Drum Studio, UN Radio and civil society to instigate a 'Violence-Free Election Campaign'.
