A bridge that connects Ibanda town council to Ishongorero has been commissioned. Works minister John Nasasira launched the sh329.3m bridge on River Ekyambu on Monday.

The project was funded by the Central Government. Nasasira said the bridge would improve the socio-economic livelihood of the community.

He added that the Kyaritanga-Kagongi-Ruhoko-Kakoma-Nyarukiika and Bisheeshe-Nyanstimbo-Ishongorero-Nyamarebe-Kanyarugiri roads would be upgraded. The minister said the Government would recruit people to maintain roads in their communities.
