Angola: Regional Workshop On Electoral Coverage Begins Today

Cabinda

A regional workshop, designed for the electoral coverage, starts this Thursday, in Cabinda city, with the participation of journalists of the host region, of Zaire and of Uíge.

Promoted by the Social Communication (media) Ministry, through the Journalists Training Centre (Cefojor), the two-day course is part of the government's programme aimed at a fair and broad coverage of the forthcoming legislative elections, summoned for next September 05.

Topics on "The Role of the Press in the Consolidation of Democracy", "The Media in the Electoral Legislation" and "The Ethical Dimension of the Media", to be addressed by the aforementioned professionals, shall be debated at the gathering.

The governor of northern Cabinda province, Aníbal Rocha will preside over the opening ceremony, whilst the closing ceremony shall be under the aegis of the deputy minister of Social Communication, Manuel Miguel de Carvalho (Wadidjimbi), expected in the region this Thursday.
