Angolan President José Eduardo dos Santos received Thursday in Luanda the credentials of new ambassadors of Norway, John Vea, and of the People's Republic of China, Zhang Bolun.

During the ceremonies held separately in the Presidential Palace, the Angolan Head of State also accredited the new diplomatic and plenipotentiary representatives of Nigeria and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, respectively Clement Laseinde and Loucha Mohamed Lamin.

The four mentioned diplomats have the status of resident ambassadors.

The Norwegian ambassador, John Vea, the only one who spoke to the press at the end of the ceremony, said that he has noted that Angola is moving rapidly and safely towards development.

"There is progress in the sectors of agriculture, electricity, oil and gas, in which we are willing to invest", said the Norwegian diplomat.

He stressed that Norway has been following with a particular attention the democratic moment in Angola, with the nearing of the legislative elections, set for September 05.

John Vea, among other jobs in the field of diplomacy, was his country's ambassador to India and also worked in the European Union.

In his turn, the new Chinese ambassador, Zhang Bolun, represented his country in Kuwait, was the chargé d'affaire in Mozambique, among other tasks linked to diplomacy.

The new representative of Nigeria in Angola was an advisor minister of his country's Embassy in Italy and Russia and also carried out diplomatic work in Tanzania, Ghana and Zimbabwe.
