Angola's women national senior team of handball left Thursday for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on a training programme, ahead of their participation in the Olympic Games of Beijing, China, scheduled for 8-24 August 2008.

ANGOP has learnt that members of the technical team, the physician, officials of the Angolan Handball Federation (FAA) and some administrative staff also travelled with the squad.

As part of the team's programme, on 12 July the African champions will also travel to Slovenia for another preparation programme for the Olympic Games.

The Angolan ladies will end their training in Japan, before travelling to China.
