At least AKz 3.8 billion was collected during the first half of 2008, by the provincial Finances Department of northern Zaire province, said Thursday the local institution's delegate, Eduardo Zacarias da Lourença.

Addressing ANGOP, the official underlined that the referred financial amount was in result of collection of industrial and property taxes and fiscal fines.

Eduardo da Lourença noted that the collected value also includes those collected by the provincial Customs Department.

With the opening fiscal offices, this year, at the localities of Luvo (Mbanza Kongo) and Nóqui, the money for the State coffers will increase, emphasised Eduardo da Lourença, who also expressed concern about tax evasion by some civil construction firms operating in the region.
