CRANES defender Ibrahim Sekagya wants to be the next captain to take Uganda to the Nations Cup after Jimmy Kirunda in 1978.

FUFA vice president technical Asuman Lubowa revealed this while he picked Sekagya's uganda telecom-USPA monthly award for May at Rwenzori Courts yesterday.

Uganda telecom corporate sales manager Michael Manzi handed over the award to Lubowa and Sekagya's young brother Sula Ssebbunza.

"Before he returned to Austria, Sekagya assured us he wants his name to be written in the history books as the next Cranes captain to take the team to the Nations Cup finals. He said he will be available for the remaining games," Lubowa revealed.

The Cranes are left with two group games against Niger and Benin in September and October respectively.

They have accumulated seven points after snatching four from Angola and three from Niger.
