Harare — POLICE are looking for MDC-T Member of Parliament-elect for Mazowe Central, Shepherd Mushonga, whom they want to interview over politically-motivated violence that left scores of Zanu-PF supporters injured in the province.
Police warned the public that Mushonga was armed and dangerous.
Police spokesperson Superintendent Andrew Phiri yesterday said they were keen to interview Mushonga who is suspected to have been the mastermind of the violence.
"He is wanted in connection with several cases of political violence that occurred in Mazowe Central, South and West constituencies."
Supt Phiri said Mushonga led MDC-T activists and went around the province attacking Zanu-PF supporters.
Mushonga is alleged to have led the MDC-T activists to Kodzwa Village under Chief Negomo in Chiweshe where they attacked ruling party supporters.
Supt Phiri said the rowdy activists used iron bars, logs and stones to assault their victims.
He said they proceeded to Kamoto Village where they laid spikes that deflated tyres on three Government vehicles. Supt Phiri said Mushonga is also wanted in connection with several other cases of political violence that occurred in the Mazowe area.
Several MDC-T MPs-elect and activists have been arrested for allegedly perpetrating violence throughout the country.
