The national senior male chess team travel this Sunday to Johannesburg, South Africa, for a training camp, ahead of African Chess Championship, scheduled for July 13-19, in Maputo, Mozambique, ANGOP learnt.

According to a source from the Angolan Chess Federation (FAX), the team is made up by international players Adérito Pedro (African runner up in individuals) and Amorim Agnelo, national masters, Catarino Domingos and Eduardo Pascoal (national title holder) and national specialist João Simões.

The Angolan team will be led by Francisco Briffel, current technical secretary of the country's chess governing body.

The event counts on participation of representatives from Angola, Mozambique, South Africa, Zambia, Namibia, Seychelles, Botswana, Malawi and Lesotho.
