Abuja — Assistant Director, Public Relations Officer, Consumer Protection Council (CPC), Mr. Olumuyiwa Biodun, said yesterday that the dearth of infrastructure had lead to poor GSM services.
"CPC in collaboration with the NCC, are trying the best to make sure necessary infrastructure are put in place for better GSM services in the country."
Biodun made the statement in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
He said the GSM operators had pledged to put in new infrastructure as soon as possible, to improve their services.
According to him, the stakeholders complained of the cost of putting the infrastructure in place and the deplorable state of power supply in the country.
" There is not always power supply to encourage quality performance in this sector, " he said.
Another problem encountered by the GSM companies, according to him, is vandalism of operators' equipment.
Biodun said that CPC and NCC would not relent in their efforts to achieve quality GSM services in the country.(NAN)
