The National Coordinator of the Police Equipment Foundation (PEF), Mr Kenny Martins and his deputy, Alhaji Ibrahim Dumuje were yesterday granted bail by an Abuja High Court.
The accused persons and another associate, Yero Gella, were charged with criminal breach of trust before the court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
They were granted bail in the sum of N10 million and two sureties each in like sum.
The judge, Justice Abubakar Talba, in his ruling held that one of the sureties must make available a bank guarantee covering the N10 million and the other must provide a certificate of occupancy indicating ownership of landed property in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Justice Talba held that the offences brought against the accused by the EFCC, were bailable.
He noted that their lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome, was able to convince the court on why it should grant bail to the accused.
He adjourned the case to July 14 for hearing on the substantive matter.
Before delivering the ruling, the EFCC had opposed the bail application, saying that the second accused person, Dumuje was convicted in the United States of America for fraud and is still on the American hit list.
But Ozekhome denied it, saying that there was no evidence to support the allegations.
The men were arrested on charges of criminal breach of trust, theft and misappropriation of funds donated to PEF.
