Madrid — Angola's Oil minister Desidério Costa on Wednesday in Madrid, Spain, said that the six years of peace in Angola have enabled the rebuilding of the country and various infrastructures, then destroyed by the war.
Due to this peace, he said at a cultural session offered to the delegates of the 19th World Oil Congress, Angola is currently facing political and economic stability.
In the economic domain it was possible to reduce, over this period, the inflation rate from 300 per cent to 17%, as well as recover and build economic infrastructures, such as roads, dams, and increase the number of presentation of foreign investment projects.
As regards specialised workforce, as demanded in the oil sector, it was recommended to the companies operating in Angola to set up training programmes for Angolan cadres in various areas of this industry, informed the minister.
Commenting on the political aspect, Desidério Costa said peace in Angola is a fact and the national reconstruction process has been consolidating more and more.
The cultural session had the participation of the Angolan ambassador to Spain, Armando da Cruz Neto, among other entities and was enlivened by the Angolan singers Yola Semedo and Matias Damasio.
