US Ambassador to Angola, Dan William Mozena last Thursday here reaffirmed his country's commitment to continue providing assistance to combat endemic diseases and reduce maternal-infantile death rate.

These illnesses include malaria and HIV/AIDS, said the diplomat during a ceremony to commemorate the 232nd anniversary of the USA independence (July 04), marked this Friday.

According to him, the US also wants to collaborate in the promotion of the country's economic growth, strengthening of democratic institutions and removal of landmines.

Concerning July 04, 1776, the 13-former American colonies declared independence from Great Britain, starting a seven-year war that culminated with the constitution of the USA as a free and sovereign nation.
