Luanda — Miguel Correia, a counsellor judge of the Constitutional Court, has reassured this institution's commitment to the assessment process of political parties' candidatures, with the nearing of the deadline (July 07) for the presentation of the lists of candidates to the September 5 legislative elections.
He has said so to ANGOP adding that the institution expects a massive submission of documents in its office in the coming 48 hours, but the court is motivated to work for the Angolan society.
"We can find difficulties, but we will engage ourselves to accomplish our task. The law may be tough but it is the law and the political parties are obliged to follow it, and so is the court", the judge explained.
The judge has admitted that the court received very few party candidacies in the first days due to the indispensable period for them to organise the necessary documents.
Miguel Correia also reminded that the process relating to the National Unity for Intervention in Angolan People's Liberty (UNILA) coalition has been rejected as it does not meet the requirements of the law.
