Young players in the Sierra Leone International Football Academy (SLIFA) will now have the opportunity to pursue their international career in Norway, says the academy's founder, Benjamin Gordon.

SLIFA will cater for thirty boys until they reach the age of 18 years when they could be eligible to travel to Norway for further training depending on the mark they made in the academy.

Gordon told Concord Sports via email that the academy is a development programme for the country to provide young minds the needed education and a professional career.

"If these youths do not succeed in their professional career, they can move up in different educational levels and do something in the future," he said.

Gordon who is presently in the United States said the academy is in its final stage now with the preparation process to acquire a land and other needed facilities ready being finalized.

He said the academy's operation in the country will be first of its kind adding that they are ready to work with the Sierra Leone Football Association and the government in achieving their goal.

In his recent visit to Sierra Leone, Gordon was accompanied by one of the key players in the setting up of the academy, Micheal Williams.

According to Gordon, Williams has been involved in football for the past five years and his role in the actualization of SLIFA academy is to assist in its development by linking it with other football academies in Norway.
