As the countdown for the Beijing Olympic Games draws near, athletes continue to get qualification for the event.
Amongst the recently qualified is Mani Leonie, champion of the International Athletics Federations Grand prix in the 200m in 2001, who realised a performance of 11, 42' in the 100m in Belgium last week.
For now the Cameroon Athletic Federation has only three athletes as Mani joins Francoise Mbango and Hugo Mamba. The door is still open for the Athletics Federation to align many more athletes until July 23.
In this vein, the 42nd edition of the National Athletics Championship is billed for July 18 and 19. This would bring together athletes like Delphine Kinag, Sergine Kwanga and others to obtain the required minimum for their qualification for Beijing.
Meanwhile, 28 Cameroonian athletes have qualified for the Olympic Games; with the Olympic Lions were the first to qualify.Fomun Victorine, Table Tennis Champion equally joins the Olympic athletes in and is among some six Africans.
Her qualification was determined by the International Table Tennis Federation following her performance in the All Africa Games in Algeria last year.
