Monrovia — In an effort to build a professional army, 21 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) yesterday graduated from a ten-month military police (MP) training at the Edward Beyan Kesselly (EBK) Barracks outside Monrovia.
Speaking at a brief but elaborate ceremony, Lt. Col. Andy Heart of the Royal Irish regiment told the graduates that they have a great task ahead which requires professionalism.
He said the MP training acquired by the AFL is intended to protect the people and defend the state.
Lt./Col.: "We are proud of you; do your job well and take your task serious."
The military police trainer, Mr. Mark Lewandowski said the graduates went through 10 months of intensive basic military police training including law enforcement, criminal law, academic, among others.
Mr. Lewandowski explained that the graduates were prepared to carry out any MP task that would be given them.
He challenged the graduates to practicalize the skills and knowledge acquired during the training for the good of the AFL and Liberia, adding "perform your task to the standard of the military police; be disciplined."
Lewandowski said the latest graduates bring the number of AFL personnel who have been trained in Military Police to 53.
