Monrovia — Grand Bassa County Representative Byron Brown has expressed fear for the wave of killings and armed robberies in the country.
He told his colleagues that war wearied citizens and residents deserve a peace of mind after a protracted period of crisis.
The Bassa lawmaker asserted that the prevailing situation has the propensity to cause havoc in the country.
He cited the recent incidents in Bong County in which two motor cyclists were killed; the killing of a deportee in Gardnersville as well as the numerous armed robberies in Sinkor, Paynesville, and other parts of Liberia as worrisome, and appealed to plenary to invite the Justice Minister to give reasons why the government can not stop this chaotic situation.

I want to strongly believe that the law enforcing officers (particulaly police )in Liberian are aware of the army robberies and raping activities in Liberia.
My children were raped three month ago where i personally talk with the Police detachment in Paynesville and give information about possible suspect. the suspect was in their custody three weeks and was free without investigation before the raping of my children in few day.
The suspect was put in jail for breaking in to the same house where the children were raped and had made statement that i was in united states sending money… [Read Full Text]
The only advice I have for the liberia goverment on this arm robbery issue is that : the goverment should design a kind of program for all the old freedom fighters who fought to bring peace to liberia.the manner in which the people were disarmed and not encamp was not the right thing.the old fighters are living with the civilian in the country and can not meet their daily needs. what do you expect from a man who was a commander and now seen himself in a kind of financial need? the manner in which the disarmed the old fighter… [Read Full Text]
