Ghana: Business Forum Bears Fruit

Tamale — The Tamale Metropolis, since the beginning of 2007 till date, has seen magnificent improvement in its economic development, with first class financial institutions springing up across the city.

This has become possible after the organization of the "Tamale Business Forum," held in Accra, by the Tamale Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), Mohammed Adam Amin-Anta, and his Coordinating Director, Mohammed Baba.

The existing peace Tamale is enjoying, has also in a way contributed to the establishment of these banks.

At the moment, the city can now boast of banks like the Intercontinental, Amalgamated, Housing and Financial Company (HFC Bank), Zenith and Ecobank.

Aside these banks are the Social Security (SG-SSB), Barclays, National investment (NIB), Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) and Standard Chartered Bank.

It also has one rural bank, called the Bonzali Rural Bank.

However, two of the banks Ecobank and Zenith, were yet to complete the construction of their premises.

On the other hand, the Tamale Metropolis has also seen some improvement in the hospitality industry, thereby making the stay of business entities and tourists, quite enjoyable and comfortable.

Latest among the hotels in Tamale is a five-star hotel being constructed by Alhaji Sumani Zakari, at Vitting along the Yendi road.

Other new hotels like Bigiza Court Hotel, Majisi Court Hotel, Crystal Rose Hotel (GETfund Hotel), Mafara Hotel and Modern City Hotel, among others, are also in the system
