Despite refusal last week over his highly speculated cabinet reshuffle, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, has dissolved the entire state executive council.

The council members, made up of 19 commissioners and three special advisers were all relieved of their appointments with immediate effect.

In a release issued yesterday, the governor's chief press secretary, Mr. Usoro Usoro explained that the governor had directed the commissioners and special advisers to immediately hand over the affairs of their different ministries and departments to the permanent secretaries of their respective ministries.

The governor however expressed his appreciation to all the affected former cabinet members for their contributions to the success of his one year old administration, the statement added.
