Rwanda has missed this year's World Junior Athletics Championship which starts today, July 8-13 in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

The bad news was confirmed by the local athletics federation officials, who said that they were forced to pull out after failing to secure Polish visas.

Rwanda Athletics Federation secretary general said, "We have tried our best in securing the visas for the traveling team from the Polish embassy based in Nairobi (Kenya) but all in vein."

"We have all the documents from the championship organizers but embassy wants Rwanda to produce a special invitation which we don't have," Appolinaire Munyangoga said.
