THE Labour Party (LP) in Ondo State has criticised Gov. Olusegun Agagu for awarding a contract for the rehabilitation of 2.5 km roads for N1.5 billion.

The party in a statement issued by Mr. Kolawole Olabisi, its spokesman, described it as another way of plundering the state's resources.

The party expressed dismay that besides the high cost, Agagu, a geologist, could flag-off the construction of the said roads on May 29, at the peak of the rainy season.

However, in a reaction, Mr. James Olusoga, the special adviser on infrastructure, said the LP and its leadership were mischievous in their allegations.

He said the two road projects going on in Akure was for the reconstruction and dualisation of about 7.5 km roads awarded at a cost of N1.5 billion.
