Asmara — Eritrea Festival in the Netherlands was colorfully conducted in Utrecht city from July 4 to 6. More than 2,600 Eritrean nationals from different Dutch cities and neighboring countries, as well as friends of Eritrea participated in the Festival that featured different programs, including lectures, seminars, youth activities, children's programs, sports competition and cultural shows, among others.
In a seminar he conducted to Festival participants, the Head of Organizational Affairs at the PFDJ, Mr. Abdalla Jabir, outlined the major accomplishments registered in the development drive being undertaken through the coordinated endeavors of the people and the Government. He also expressed conviction that greater achievements would be scored through overcoming acts of hostility.
Stating that the people and members of the Defense Force are working hand-in-hand in backing up development programs and safeguarding the nation's sovereignty, Mr. Abdalla indicated that Eritrea is making significant stride in this regard.
Also speaking on the occasion, the Eritrean Consul General in Holland, Mr. Solomon Mehari, pointed out that this year's Festival is special as it was held at a time when major development accomplishments are being registered in the Homeland. He further called on nationals to enhance their contribution in the development drive and in reinforcing national unity.
The Salina Cultural Troupe from Asmara staged musical performances at the Festival, thus adding color to the event.
