The National Assembly Tuesday here ratified the International Health Regulation of 2005, with view to protect and respond to the public health in the case of international spreading of diseases.

The advantage of the adoption and implementation of the regulation has to do with providing of a new legal framework for national infectious disease surveillance and control.

Reinforcing of public health in the trips and transports and reducing the danger of global infectious disease through the effective capacity of response at airports, ports and land border, are among the country's advantages.

According to the Health minister, Ruben Sicato, the diploma is very important in the current context of globalisation, in which prevail, more and more, the facilities of communication among the world States and the possibility of containing diseases that can pose danger to the public health.

The Regulation was approved with 127 votes in favour, no against and none abstention.
