Zimbabwe: Fight Over a Woman Ends Tragically

Harare — A man died after reportedly fighting with a rival suitor over a woman at Tongai Moyo's show in Gweru last week.

The incident occurred on Friday night at the Gweru Swimming Pool where the sungura musician was performing. Albert Girivani had gone to the show with his friends Tinashe Moyo and Paul Sigauke. At the show, Girivani spotted his girlfriend in the company of another man and confronted him. A fight broke out and Girivani left the show and was driven home by his friends where he reportedly spent the night in the car. His friends found him dead the following morning and made a report to the police.

Police spokesperson Superintendent Andrew Phiri confirmed the incident. He said a manhunt for the suspect had been launched while investigations were underway.
