The Hawiye Cultural and Unity Council has described the operations by the Banaadir administration to demolish residential areas in the district of Abdiaziz, Mogadishu as robbery of people's property.

Speaking to Shabelle the political spokesman for the Hawiye Cultural and Unity Council, Abdullahi Hasan Abukar alias Abdullahi Dhere, has accused the Banadir administration lead by senior officials of embarking on the demolition of residential areas in the district of Abdi-Aziz.

"There is a land grabbing mission by the Banadir Regional administration, To make it worse, the leaders of the Banadir administration went there themselves and took part in the pulling down operations" Mr.Dhere said.

He added that it's deplorable the move made by Banadir administration.

"We are condemning the move by the administration and we know of those who paid Muhammad Dhere [the Banadir Regional governor and Mayor of Mogadishu requesting for the removal of the residents from these particular areas, we are telling them we know this city well, The man claiming to be the Regional governor himself took part in the demolition and is planning to take over the land" he furiously said.

He asked the internal affairs minister whether he was aware of the demolition of residential areas in parts of Banadir and he declined to comment.
