Massawa

The number of tourists who visited Eritrea for vacation is showing noticeable growth. The tourists told ERINA in the port city of Massawa that Eritrea is a major tourist destination, as it is endowed with rich tourism potentials, coupled with the prevailing peace and security.

One of the visitors, Mr. Ali Mohammed Sharahilli from Saudi Arabia, highly appraised the breathtaking sea coast and said that the prevailing peace and security in the country encourages one to frequently visit Eritrea.

Similarly, Mr. Lutz Gebhardt, a German tourist who came to Eritrea with his family, stated that he was impressed with the spectacular landscape along the Asmara-Massawa road, as well as the scenery along the route from the port city to Gorgusum beach. His wife Christiane equally expressed admiration to the Eritrean people's hospitality and admired the virgin Red Sea waters.

Still another tourist from Italy, Mr. Niccolo Carini, who usually spends his vacation in Eritrea, said that the Eritrean coastline is not only breathtaking but also unpolluted. Stating that the prevailing peace and security is the country's major resource, he explained that any person can move freely in Eritrea with a sense of security.
