Nigeria: Police Parade Armed Robbers, Cultists in Nasarawa

Lafia — Nasarawa State Police Command yesterday paraded eight armed robbery suspects and three drug traffickers arrested at various times within the state.

Also paraded was a student of Government College, Obi, one Ag-aga Theophilus, who was alleged to belong to a secret cult known as Black Skull whose members were alleged to have been terro-rising the college community.

Theophilus, according to the police, was arrested with one local-ly made pistol which he said be-longs to a member of the Black Skull.

The suspect, the police said, also gave names of other members as El Motion, Albama, Chocho, Gramson, Tochukwu and Emmy-kian, all students of Government College in Obi who are at large.

Also paraded was a female drug trafficker, one Helen Ikhile and her two accomplices-Andrew Anuro, and Emmanuel Job alleged to have been arrested with some killogrammes of Indian hemp. The trio were handed to men of the Nasarawa State command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency shortly after they were paraded yesterday.

The commissioner of police, Shehu Babalola who paraded the suspects at the command head-quarters located along Makurdi road said two political thugs were arrested with two military assault rifles and had since been charged to court.

Some of the armed robbers paraded were Shaibu Abdul-kareem, Usman Mumuni, Boboyi Garba, Ibrahim Bawa, Usman Mohammed and Christopher Chika Dike.
