Sierra Leone: Ahmadiyya Pupil Bags Africell's Le100 Million

A senior secondary school pupil from Ahmadiyya Muslim Secondary School Wednesday received a Le 100 million cheque from Africell mobile company as he became last weekend's winner of the ongoing Le 2 billion mega prize draw.

Winner Mohamed Lamin Sankoh of 16L Ashobi Corner lauded Africell for its relentless efforts in trying to improve the lives of many Sierra Leoneans. For this reason, he said Africell is the best mobile operator in the country.

"I have never dreamt of being a millionaire in my entire life. My winning came as a big surprise," he said and advised everyone to connect to Africell as the country's leaders in telecommunication.

The presentation which took place at the Taiwo Chaldis Night Club on Blackhall Road in Freetown was witnessed by hundreds of Africell subscribers.

Africell's chief commercial officer, Joe Amara Bangali Jr. said they have contributed a lot to the country's development adding that they will continue to do more.

He said since the draw started in May this year, subscribers in Freetown have won six hundred million Leones out of the eight hundred million Leones that the company has given out so far.

Bangali Jr. noted that it was very important for their subscribers to understand the way and manner in which they select winners adding that the draw was transparent.

"We strongly believe in giving back to our subscribers. We did not only reward but also remain loyal to them," he said.
