Angola: Prime Minister Discusses Cooperation With Benin

Luanda — Angolan prime minister , Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, Friday in Luanda, received in audience the minister of Industry and Commerce of Benin, Gregoire Akofodji, with whom he discussed the strengthening of economic relations between the two countries.

Speaking to journalists at the end of the audience, Gregoire Akofodji said he expressed to the premier the interest of his country to expand the relations existing in the economic domain, with stress to the sectors of industry, commerce and transports.

Gegoire Akofodji who is in Angola since Thursday for a three days visit, said the purpose of his presence in the country is to hold exploratory talks with local authorities about starting the said cooperation the earliest.

He also stated that he is bearer to a message from Beninese head of State, Boni Yayi, to his Angolan colleague, José Eduardo dos Santos. The message focuses on the state of cooperation between the two countries.

The Beninese president was in Angola from April 7-8 this year, during a visit that served to discuss issues concerning cooperation in the sectors of fisheries, oil, geology and mining, health, culture, hotels and tourism.

The audience was attended by various Government officials, including the Oil minister, Desidério Costa.
