South Africa: Act Soon on Premiers, Mbeki Urged

Johannesburg — POLITICAL analysts have warned that President Thabo Mbeki should waste no time in appointing new premiers for Eastern Cape and Western Cape as the provinces cannot be left leaderless.

This follows a decision by the African National Congress (ANC ) national executive committee (NEC) to axe Western Cape Premier Ebrahim Rasool and his Eastern Cape counterpart, Nosimo Balindlela.
