As the afterglow excitement of hosting Swaziland's King Mswati III fades, the gray hairs at Mengo are beginning to get hot and bothered, as they try to figure out the central government's real intention in hosting the Swazi monarch.

According to reliable sources at Mengo, the royal visit is being looked at as some kind of olive branch, a welcome one at that, as the campaign to shoot down the proposed Land Bill was beginning to take a toll on the kingdom's human and other resources.

Some optimistic Mengo officals are already ironing their tunics, in anticipation of a reciprocal visit to Swaziland.

The fact that King Mswati is a close friend of both President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and Kabaka Ronald Mutebi the two key players in the current standoff between Mengo and Nakasero hills, according to political analysts, is a good sign.
