Rwanda: Kayonga Lifts June Mug

Kigali — Jack Kayonga lifted Saturday's Mutzig mug to become the fourth winner of the monthly competition.

The handicap 09 golfer who had not tasted victory since assuming the KGC presidency back in March, played three-over at the par- 72 course to join the elite class of François Rugomboka, Andrew Nkwandi and Marcel Byusa, who won the previous three mugs.

In subsidiary categories, Richard Gakuba carded 75 net to top the second competitive category while lady captain Vicky Suazo played the same score to lift the ladies' award.

Lucas Ndolo had his handicap brought down to 18 after playing some incredible golf. The former handicap 24 golfer played 13-under, probably the best score at the course this year.

In the semi-professional category, Celestin Habineza stumped his authority after carding 72 net. It was the golfer's second honors in a space of seven days following his Pembe Open heroics.
