Angola: Foreign Minister Expected in Paraguay for Accords

Angola's Foreign Affairs minister João Bernardo de Miranda Tuesday left Santiago, Chile, for Paraguay, where he will sign on Thursday a general cooperation agreement.

During his visit to Paraguay, third country of his tour of South America region, João Miranda will also sign a memorandum of understanding on the consultations between the two countries' foreign affairs.

Afterwards, the Angolan official will leave for Brazil, where he will hold discussion focused on increment of South-South relations, taking into account the complementary of the Angolan and Brazilian economies.

He will also talk with his Brazilian counterpart, Celson Amorim, issues related to South Atlantic Cooperation and Peace Zone and its expansion to other Latin American states located on the coast of the same ocean, as well as the implantation of Luanda Action Programme.

The ministry delegation comprises Angolan ambassador to the visited countries, Leogevildo da Costa e Silva, the directors for bilateral cooperation and for America, Mário Canário, and Balbina Dias da Silva, respectively, as well as the counselling minister, Osvaldo Varela.
